Overview

Although legend declares that the land of Kerala was formed when Parsurama, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, threw his mighty battle-axe into the Arabian Sea. Kerala’s attractions are focused mainly in the south, within easy distance of the capital, Thiruvananthapuram, where the beautiful white-sand beaches around the resort of Kovalam attract streams of sun worshippers throughout the winter months and the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary draws tiger-spotters.

Itinerary

Day 1
Cochin-Munnar(126 kms): Pick up from Cochin Airport / Railway station and proceed to Munnar. On your way enjoy beautiful streams, small waterfalls, rubber, pepper, cardamom and tea plantations and thick forests. Check in to your resort. Have leisure in the resort. Over night stay at Munnar.
Day 2
Munnar: Munnar sight seeing. Over night stay at Munnar. Attractions: Raja Mala , Eravikulam national park-(Nilgiri Tahr, Panther, Sambhar etc), Mattupetty Dam, Echo point, Tea museum, Kundala dam, tea and coffee plantations, shopping in the town market.
Day 3
Munnar-Thekkady(85 kms): After breakfast, check out from the resort & embark on a fascinating journey to Thekkady enjoying the stunning panoramic view of the Cardamom hills & green carpets of tea plantation enroute. Check in to your Resort. Over night stay at Thekkady. Attractions: Spice market, Spice plantation. Periyar lake around which the sanctuary is built, for boating. This is the only sanctuary in India where you can have the unique experience of viewing the wild life at close quarters from the safety of a boat.
Day 4
Houseboat( Thekkady-Allepey)( 146km): Check out from the resort in the morning. Proceed to Alleppy and check into houseboat at noon. Houseboat cruising. A cruise along the palm-fringed waterways, lush paddy fields, coir villages, rustic homes, temples, churches, ancient Chinese fishing nets, water lilies and coconut groves of Kerala in a deluxe houseboat. Discover the hidden treasure of nature and see the several species of aquatic life, water birds and animals living in or alongside the backwaters of Kerala. See the stunning sunset view from houseboat and enjoy mouthwatering delicacies prepared in front of you by your Kitchen crew. Over night stay at Houseboat.
Day 5
Allepey –Cochin( 73 kms): Check out from the houseboat, proceed to Cochin airport / Railway station and return home with sweet memories of the trip. If there is enough time you will be having option for sightseeing(Fort Cochin, Jewish synagogue, Chinese fishing nets, Mattancheri palace,Veegaland Park) and shopping in Cochin.
